Pilates is a whole-body workout that is performed in harmony with breathing. The focus of Pilates exercises is on strengthening and stabilizing the center of the body (abdominal and back muscles/pelvic floor muscles) in order to create flowing body movements.
The muscles and joints are mobilized in all possible directions and simultaneously strengthened and stretched.
This creates a balanced strength-length ratio and the body achieves a healthy balance, giving it a natural upright posture.
